About Sensei Coffin

Master Vic Coffin is a former United States Marine Corp Sergeant and a combat veteran of the Vietnam War. Sensei Coffin began his journey in karate as a young boy over 50 years ago with his first instructor, Chittawa Lewchalermnwong, in Shotokan Karate. Master Coffin first saw Grandmaster Odo in 1969 on his way to Vietnam while in the Marine Corps and immediately became interested in the Kobudo (weapons) that did not exist in his Shotokan dojo. Sensei Coffin began practicing Okinawa Kenpo Karate Kobudo directly under Grandmaster Odo while in the Marine Corps and has continued in the discipline since that time. Master Coffin began teaching in his own dojo in 1978 and has remained a faithful follower and instructor in Okinawa Kenpo Karate Kobudo. Master Coffin has been a highly successful competitor on the Karate circuit for many years, winning numerous Regional, National and International titles for his expertise in Kata, Kubudo (weapons) and Kumite (fighting).
